William “Bill” F. Nelson was the son of John S. and Lucinda “Cindy” (Taylor) Nelson. Bill married Matilda “Tilda” Simpson on Aug. 22, 1909.

After selling their property to make way for the reservoir, the Nelsons moved to the Solitude area of Hawkins County.
